Accountant Full Time

Position Overview

Zanaya Shipping Services LLC (ZSS) is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join their team. This role is based in the Sajaa office and focuses on managing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring financial processes align with business objectives, and maintaining accurate financial records within the freight forwarding industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting principles and VAT regulations, as well as experience working in a similar industry within the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions.
• Prepare and analyze monthly finance reports, providing insights into financial performance.
• Oversee the reconciliation process for supplier liabilities, customer receivables, retailer liabilities, and related collections.
• Monitor account discrepancies and ensure that all account balances are accurate and up-to-date.
• Support tax and audit activities, ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations.
• Prepare and file VAT returns and ensure compliance with UAE VAT laws.
• Develop and maintain trackers and tools to monitor and control expenditures and accruals.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of recorded transactions and perform periodic financial audits.
• Keep up-to-date with changes in VAT regulations and other local financial legislation.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or Post-Graduate qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, ideally within the freight forwarding industry in the UAE.
  • Knowledge of local customs, port clearance rules, and regulations is highly preferred.
  • Experience in VAT compliance and reporting is mandatory.
• Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle complex financial data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.
• License: Valid UAE driving license.
