Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:
- Assist in overseeing the Engineering Department to ensure optimal functioning of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and related systems.
- Conduct regular walk-throughs to assess the maintenance and operation of the hotel’s physical structures.
- Verify the completion of routine maintenance tasks across various hotel areas, including public spaces, meeting rooms, and back-of-house areas.
Project Oversight:
- Ensure timely completion of repairs, replacements, and renovation projects in offices and employee work areas.
- Adhere to company purchasing policies and budget guidelines during project execution.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow prescribed safety procedures and emergency plans in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
- Participate in energy management and preventative maintenance programs.
- Conduct training for other departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy.
Team Leadership:
- Assist in managing and implementing the Engineering Department’s annual and long-term goals.
- Conduct daily briefings with department team members on current key activities.
- Foster effective communication with hotel team members across departments.
Guest Satisfaction:
- Anticipate and respond to guest issues, establishing proactive processes to promote guest satisfaction.
- Liaise with third-party vendors and contractors as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED; minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering and maintenance or a related professional area.
- Technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, or plumbing is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in managing budgets and understanding of purchasing policies.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance standards.
