Assistant Resident Engineer Full Time

​Stantec is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer – Civil to join their team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for a significant Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) project. This project involves the rehabilitation and expansion of an existing STP to enhance its efficiency and capacity to approximately 435,000 m³/day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Oversight: Assist the Resident Engineer in managing daily construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and timelines.​

• Coordination: Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and various governmental departments to facilitate progress and prevent delays.​

• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of project progress, including logs, reports, and correspondence.​

• Review Processes: Evaluate and provide feedback on shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and other project-related documents.​

• Quality Assurance: Monitor construction work to ensure adherence to quality standards and promptly address any non-conforming work.​

• Reporting: Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports.​

• Client Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.​

• Safety Compliance: Adhere to and enforce safe work practices in line with company policies and guidelines.​

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.​

• Experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in infrastructure projects, particularly in the design, construction, and supervision of sewage treatment plants and pumping stations.​

• Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Primavera P3.

  • Strong decision-making capabilities and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.​

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.​

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare instructions, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.

• Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with Dubai Municipality (DM) guidelines and procedures.​

  • Comprehensive understanding of existing infrastructure within the Emirate of Dubai.​
