Commis – Banquet Kitchen Full Time

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Commis to join our Banquet Kitchen team at W Dubai – The Palm. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation of high-quality dishes while ensuring compliance with food safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
• Wash, peel, and prepare fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes and quality standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Prepare and cook food as per recipes, ensuring adherence to presentation and quality standards.
• Prepare cold dishes and serve food in proper portions.
• Monitor and test food quality to ensure it meets culinary standards.
• Set up and break down workstations, ensuring cleanliness and order.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, equipment, and surfaces.
• Check and maintain the temperature of appliances and food to ensure safety.
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies and procedures.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and appearance.
• Foster positive relationships with colleagues to achieve team goals.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods during shifts.
• Capacity to bend, twist, stoop, and reach overhead and below the knees.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Supervisory Experience: None required.
