Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Commis I to join our kitchen team and assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a professional kitchen, a strong passion for culinary arts, and the ability to work under pressure. This role is crucial in supporting the senior chefs and ensuring that our kitchen operates efficiently.
Responsibilities
Assist senior chefs in the preparation and cooking of menu items.
Follow recipes and presentation standards as directed by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas.
Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items.
Assist in inventory management and stock rotation.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety practices.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service.
Participate in training and development opportunities to improve skills.
Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by senior chefs.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Commis I or similar role in a professional kitchen.
Proficient in culinary techniques and kitchen equipment.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school is a plus.
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Knowledge of health and safety standards in food preparation.
