You as a Business Partner will be a part of the Power Grids Business based in Dubai, UAE. Lead a number of commissioning teams within a business unit. Manage teams’ performance to ensure that safety, integrity, financial and contractual requirements are met. Initiate and drive continuous improvement activities across teams.
Technical contribution: Leading commissioning teams responsible for several products or systems areas and ensuring delivery of a portfolio of projects on time and as per contract specifications. Providing direction to the teams with a focus on safety, on time delivery, quality and margin improvement.
Customer and sales: Building and maintaining customer relationships, seeks feedback and provides innovative solutions to improve and meet customer requirements. Negotiating with the customers to define plant acceptance criteria and ensures the commissioning teams obtain final acceptance certification. Representing commissioning function in project review meetings.
Contract management: Overseeing contractual work within ones area of responsibility Conducts regular progress reviews, identifies and manages contract risks.
Planning and control: Ensuring that the commissioning teams are adequately resourced, developed and equipped to meet business needs. Overseeing planning and controlling process in the commissioning teams. Conducting regular reviews to ensure that teams are delivering work according to requirements of the customer and ABB.
Risk and opportunity management: Ensuring that business risks are identified and managed, and opportunities maximized. Ensuring that the required systems are understood, developed and correctly implemented.
Supply chain management: Collaborating with the Supply Chain function to ensure correct suppliers, services and equipment are available to support the commissioning execution.
Technical leadership and development: Facilitating best practice sharing within the commissioning team.
Processes and tools: Initiating and driving continuous improvement activities. Developing implementing and improving relevant processes, policies and procedures to improve effectiveness across the engineering function.
People leadership and development: Ensuring (with HR support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates, coaches and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR polices.
Finance and budget: Creating financial plans and budget estimates for unit/business area Overseeing adherence to these plans and estimates.
