Cook I Full Time

Job Responsibilities:

Food Preparation and Cooking:

• Prepare special meals or substitute products as needed.






• Adjust oven, broiler, and grill temperatures to meet cooking requirements.
• Thaw frozen food in the refrigerator as per safety standards.
• Ensure proper portioning, seasoning, and timing of food during preparation.
• Monitor the quality and quantity of food being prepared, ensuring it meets standards.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality, and presentation standards.
• Prepare cold dishes for service.
• Report excess food products to the kitchen manager for use in daily specials.
• Report rejected products and inform the Food and Beverage service team about special menu items available.

Team Support and Development:

• Assist in the hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and motivating kitchen staff.
• Serve as a role model for other team members, maintaining a positive work environment.
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and other departments, ensuring smooth operations during busy periods.

Safety and Compliance:

• Comply with all company safety and hygiene policies and procedures.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to the manager.
• Complete necessary safety training and obtain required safety certifications.
• Ensure proper uniform and personal appearance standards are followed.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and safeguard company property.

Guest Service:

• Anticipate guest service needs and respond appropriately.
• Communicate professionally with others, cultivating positive working relationships with colleagues and guests.

Physical Demands:

• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
• Perform tasks involving bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

Education:

• Degree from a technical, trade, or vocational school in culinary arts or a related field.

Experience:

• At least 3 years of related work experience in a professional kitchen environment.

Supervisory Experience:

• Not required, but the ability to mentor and guide team members is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

• None required.
