Managerial

• Prioritizes and organizes work effectively, coordinates problem solving during the scheduled shift.
• Assists Nurse Manager with staff competencies and assignments
• Able to contribute to performance management of staff and ongoing Education, development of competencies within the department.
• Assists in conducting unit meetings, prepare Minutes and submit to Director of Nursing for approval liaison with Nurse Manager.
• Assists in the development, revision, and implementation of plans to facilitate goal attainment.
• Reports any untoward incident or accident on the hospital premises involving a patient, visitor or staff member.

Operational (in liaison with Nurse Manager)

CSSD Duties

• Performs and meet the sterilization requirements for operating theater, wards, intensive care unit, emergency department, cathlab, dialysis unit, outpatient department etc. and further ensuring that the requirement are dispatched timely and with complete documentation.
• Coordinates the sterilization of operation theatre sets received and further ensured timely dispatch of these sets with complete documentation.
• Handle all equipment’s related to CSSD: autoclave, washer disinfector, ultrasonic washer, air gun, water gun, sealers.
• Prepares packs and consumables.
• Maintains adequate inventory of CSSD consumables & sterile sets that are needed for surgery. Stock levels are reviewed at the end of each day and future requirements are fore casted and replenished accordingly.

  Responsibilities

CSSD Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing coordinating and implementing standards to ensure sterilization requirement for the whole hospital in liaison with Nurse Manager. She/He coordinates with the Operating Room team, nurses, clinical and non-clinical departments for achieving competence in quality. She/He should be a guide to lead staff to achieve the job according to the universal standards. CSSD supervisor is a guide to staff to achieve the sterilization process in a high level and universal standards. She/he Works towards achieving the mission and vision of NMC Royal Hospital, Sharjah. She/he is responsible for directing and overseeing the performance of nursing team along with Nurse Manager that they perform superior quality care up to NMC Royal Hospital management’s.

Qualifications

2 years of certified CSSD Technician course.
