Demi Chef de Partie Full Time

Position Summary:

The Demi Chef de Partie at Aloft Palm Jumeirah’s Mexican restaurant will assist in preparing and cooking high-quality Mexican cuisine in accordance with set standards. You will ensure that all dishes are prepared on time, following recipes and adhering to hygiene standards. You will be a key player in maintaining the consistency, presentation, and quality of food.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ingredient Preparation: Prepare ingredients for cooking by portioning, chopping, and storing food correctly.
• Food Handling: Thaw frozen food in the refrigerator and ensure accurate weighing, measuring, and mixing of ingredients as per recipes.
• Cooking: Prepare and cook food according to quality standards and recipes while following a food preparation checklist.
• Food Quality Monitoring: Continuously monitor the quality of food during preparation, tasting, and adjusting seasoning and flavors when necessary.
• Serving: Ensure proper portioning, presentation, and garnishing of dishes before serving them.
• Equipment Safety: Use kitchen tools and equipment safely and appropriately, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
• Hygiene and Cleanliness: Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment regularly.
• Temperature Control: Monitor and ensure correct temperatures of food and kitchen appliances, and report any discrepancies.
• Team Communication: Communicate with the manager or other team members for assistance during busy periods and maintain a cooperative team environment.
• Compliance: Follow all company, safety, and security policies and procedures, and report any safety hazards or accidents.
• Professionalism: Maintain a clean and professional appearance, and deliver courteous service to guests and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of experience working in a similar culinary role, ideally in a Mexican restaurant.
• Supervisory Experience: None required.
• License or Certification: None required.
