General Cashier Full Time

Position Summary:
The General Cashier / Paymaster will handle financial data with precision and care. Responsibilities include checking figures for correct entry and mathematical accuracy, organizing and securing financial records, and ensuring compliance with internal procedures. The role also involves managing petty cash, cashier banks, period-end closing procedures, and acting as the liaison between the property and the banking institutions. This position is critical to maintaining financial accuracy and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify accuracy of figures, postings, and documents.
• Organize, secure, and maintain financial records and cash in accordance with policies.
• Record and analyze computerized financial data.
• Compile financial records using journals, ledgers, and computers.
• Complete period-end closing procedures and reports.
• Audit cashier banks periodically as per SOPs.
• Maintain, distribute, and document petty cash, cashier banks, and contracts.
• Act upon cash variances following SOPs.
• Liaise between the property and armored car service or primary banking institution.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external audit processes.
• Follow company policies regarding confidentiality, uniform standards, and asset protection.
• Foster positive relationships with coworkers and assist with team goals.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of related work experience in finance, accounting, or cashiering.
• Skills: Strong organizational and mathematical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to move, lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with financial software and accounting systems.
• Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
