IMI CIB – UK & MEA – Accountant Full Time

Scope and Purpose

General Ledger Update:

• Recognition of accounting entries
• Perform / review the monthly Petty Cash reconciliation and record entries
• Fixed Assets Control: recognition and module management
• Maintaining the accounting ledger including update, reporting and coordination with the Accounting

Manager for any exceptions arising from day-to-day operations

• Responsible for the system SOD and EOD proceedings
• Accounts Payable operations including vendors’ invoices settlement

Treasury activities and Nostro reconciliation:

• Daily monitoring of FX Position of the Branch
• Prepare weekly Treasury position and process MM deals for Branch funding purposes
• Responsible for daily review of outstanding transactions from the Nostro Account Reconciliations in coordination with Operations

Internal Reporting to Management / Head Office:

• Preparation of daily liquidity report for submission to management
• Assist the Accounting Manager on Quarter/Half Year/Annual reporting to Head Office
• Monthly Expense monitoring reports
• Support the Accounting Manager with internal audits

External Reporting to Regulator / Other:

• Assist the Accounting Manager in quarterly and annual reporting to Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA)
• Assist the Accounting Manager for other regulatory reporting (e.g. FTA for VAT filing, Ministry of Finance for FATCA / CRS submissions, etc.)
• Support the Accounting Manager with external audits

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years, preferably in a Financial Institution
• Understanding of DFSA / CBUAE regulatory reporting requirements
• Experience in the Financial Services Industry and knowledge of IFRS

Required Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance or related discipline
• Certification in Accounting preferable (such as ACCA, CPA, CA)
• Knowledge of banking sector
• Background in Accounting and Finance (experience with “Big 4” preferably)
• Computer literate
• Fluent English
