IT Project Officer Full Time

Reporting to the Manager IT Programs, the Project officer is responsible for planning and executing work packages (modules) of a larger project or enhancements. Deliver to the respective timelines and budgets for the allocated work. Also ensuring quality control for the work packages assigned are key to this position. Assisting the Business Alignment group to manage and deliver software development, enhancements or upgrades.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Key Activities

1. Coordinating and planning of delivery work packages (and/or modules) of small or medium size projects on time, within budget and to the required quality specifications. Closely monitor any deviations from the agreed timeline and budget, ensuring early intimation to the IT management of potential deviations and applicable necessary remedial actions.
2. Liaise with project stakeholders, flydubai and external vendors, in an onshore and offshore engagement model to coordinate and deliver the assigned work packages and facilitate resolution of associated issues (mitigation plans), risks and any changes.
3. Ensure all required documentation are compiled on a high standard and maintained in an accurate and auditable manner.
4. Timely reporting of accurate progress on projects, establish status reports for stakeholders via electronic reporting and formal presentations.
5. Adherence to formal project governance to ensure compliance with agreed flydubai standards based on Cobit and PMP Methodology
6. Adhering to flydubai change and release management procedures – identification and impact assessment of change, communication of time and cost impact following a change request.
7. Project administration – ensure the accurate submission of all invoices, in order to reflect work done and provided by vendor on time and to flydubai’s specification. Answer any queries that arise from submission of invoices to Accounts Payable.
8. Obtain business buy-in and approvals on project objectives and deliverables using diplomacy and appropriate interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

Minimum Qualification

• University Degree in IT, Engineering or equivalent

Experience

• 4+ years’ experience in technology Project Coordination / Work Packages management (infrastructure and software development projects).
• 2+ years’ experience in aviation IT sector would be an advantage
• Good experience in people management
• Good experience in risk / issues management
• Good experience in change management

Knowledge / Skills

• Very good Oral and written communication skills
• Proven ability to work independently and minimal supervision with respect to the assigned work package(s)
• Proven track record on influence and negotiation
• Proficient in Microsoft Project and Office suite
• Knowledge of airline industry practices, processes, and applications
• Possess a good understanding of project management methodologies (Agile and Waterfall).

Certificate / License

• PMI or equivalent certification is preferred.
