Junior Accounts Paymaster Full Time

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of payroll processing, maintaining employee records, and supporting various payroll-related activities. This role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accuracy Checks: Verify figures, postings, and documents for accuracy, ensuring all payroll data is correct and compliant with company policies.
• File Management: Organize, secure, and maintain files, records, cash, and cash equivalents in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Data Processing: Record, store, and analyze computerized financial and payroll information. Prepare, maintain, audit, and distribute payroll reports and tables.
• Employee Records: Maintain, update, create, secure, and archive employee payroll records and files.
• Reconciliation: Review, verify, and reconcile punches, hours worked, pay adjustments, and other payroll-related information, posting data onto designated records.
• System Management: Back up transaction files and transmit data to the payroll system per company procedures. Adjust settings in the time clock system and correct employee punches as necessary.
• Payroll Processing: Process and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions. Compute employee wages and deductions (e.g., union dues, insurance, parking, 401k) and enter the information into the payroll system.
• Employee Support: Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues, benefit plans, and collective bargaining agreement provisions.
• Batch Adjustments: Complete batch adjustments to payroll as required.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
• Skills:
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data processing.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required.
• License or Certification: None required.
