Lab Engineer Full Time

The department provides Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science and M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

The department invites applications for one position from highly motivated and experienced candidates to join our team as Lab Engineer in Computer Science. The successful candidate will help deliver labs for undergraduate courses for our Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Labs expected to be delivered include, but are not limited to: Python Programming Language, Object-Oriented Programming (with Java), Operating Systems, Software Engineering and an introductory course in Data Science/AI. Desired Skills and Experience

Applicants should possess an M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Computer Science or related disciplines from an accredited institution, along with minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Preference will be given to candidates with educational backgrounds from, or prior service in, distinguished higher education institutions.

We are seeking a Lab Engineer in Computer Science to contribute to our academic mission by supporting the functioning and development of labs within the department and working closely with department faculty to provide high quality technical support in labs. Responsibilities include managing the allocation of work and responsibilities to the assigned technical team; coordinating day to day operations of the assigned laboratory and the assigned laboratory staff; supporting the identification and purchasing of lab equipment, following consultation with appropriate faculty and working closely with procurement / facilities management / finance departments; and working closely with direct supervisor to provide excellent lab services to faculty, students and researchers.
