Paralegal Full Time

Description

The primary focus of the role will be legal support of corporate, operational and business development functions for Africa & Middle East region reporting to Director Legal, based in Dubai (Director).

The function will also include providing assistance with company compliance matters and the drafting of letters, contract amendments and, further on, contracts.

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Draft powers of attorney
• Preparation of execution copies
• Preparing first draft of contracts based on templates and agreed commercial terms
• Updating templates
• Housekeeping function
• Support compliance function
• Assist in obtaining signatures of company directors on documents as and when needed.
• Take the lead in dealing with external counsels hired in various jurisdictions and help clear invoices.
• Take the lead in coordinating with finance department in chasing and following up on outstanding debts and preparing drafts of legal notices depending on the approach taken.
• Distribute signed contracts to the relevant stakeholders
• Additional support may be required based on the company’s needs.

Requirements of the Paralegal:

• Fluency in English language
• Knowledge of another language/s (French, Arabic) is an asset
• Ability to take the lead in independently managing the tasks and coordinate with other departments
• Ability to function independently and work well in team
