Observe and interpret instruments such as ammeters, voltmeters, frequency meters, synchro scopes, automatic temperature and pressure recorders, and engine oil, fuel, and coolant gauges.
Adjust engine generator systems to maintain proper voltage, current, frequency, and synchronization; synchronize multiple generators when needed.
The Contractor shall operate medium and low voltage generators as required. Operations of the electric generators include start-up, transfer of load, generation, and shutdown of all associated electric power equipment. Operations responsibilities include monitoring and adjusting generator and electrical output performance as required; ensuring adequate stores of fuel are available for continuous operation of the plants; switching operating generators to maintain electrical output while permitting servicing on generators taken off line. Duties include observation of key and critical operational parameters and taking appropriate measures in the event of out-of-tolerance conditions. For locations where generators are providing prime power, performance of these duties must be on a 24-hour a day, 7-day week shift schedule, if continuous power is required.
