General Purpose of Role

• Provides administrative support in a variety of functions to an individual, team, department, or other group in an organization.
• Collects, reviews and analyzes data, and prepares reports, charts, budgets and other presentation materials.
• Responds to or routes routine inquiries from external or internal sources with standard correspondence or other messaging.
• Schedules and coordinates meetings, travel, and other group activities.
• Has basic word processing, spreadsheet and graphics software skills.
• Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.

Global Level Summary

• Intermediate level support position responsible for performing semi-routine work activities with minimal instruction.
• May require proficient use of data entry/retrieval and calculating and may also involve the use of complicated decimals/fractions and mathematical formulas.

• Decisions follow established routines and standing instructions, which may vary significantly, representing somewhat diversified procedures and precedents.
• Ability to consider the most appropriate procedure or precedent to follow and make discriminating choices among learned things.
• Recognizes problems and is able to recommend solutions from a set of limited options based on prior experience with similar situations.

Supervision Received

• Under general supervision, work may be varied and somewhat difficult but limited in scope. Ability to recommend optional theories and solutions is limited.

Typical Qualifications 

• Secondary school education or equivalent and relevant years of experience.
