Supermarket Cashier Full Time

We are looking for a friendly, efficient, and detail-oriented Cashier to join our Bazaar Gourmet Supermarket team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions and maintaining a clean, organized checkout area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers warmly and provide a pleasant checkout experience.
• Scan items and ensure pricing is accurate.
• Process cash, credit/debit card, and mobile payments.
• Bag purchases carefully and appropriately.
• Balance the cash register and generate reports at the end of shifts.
• Assist with restocking shelves near the register and maintaining front-of-store displays.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints in a professional manner.
• Follow all store policies and procedures regarding transactions and customer service.
• Keep the checkout area clean and orderly.
• Assist with opening and closing duties as required.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cashier or retail experience is a plus.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate items.
• Honest, reliable, and punctual.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Working Conditions:

• Fast-paced environment with frequent customer interaction.
• May involve standing for long periods.
• Use of point-of-sale (POS) systems and barcode scanners.
