Teaching Assistant Full Time

Job Purpose

The School of  Engineering at the Canadian University Dubai invites applications for Teaching Assistant positions. We are seeking enthusiastic and dynamic candidates in Computer Science/Information Technology fields. The School is particularly interested in candidates with Bachelor’s degrees in Computer science. Duties will include assisting the course instructor in preparing labs for courses in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Computer Network, Software Development.  Active involvement in supporting student projects and student activities is a must. Showing a portfolio of software projects built by the candidate is a must. Having at least two years of teaching experience is preferred.

Key Responsibility Areas

• Supporting student technically to build software projects (Web apps, Mobile apps, AI-based apps, etc.)
• Performing routine laboratory functions to support lectures and scientific experiments
• Setting up, testing, adjusting, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory equipment
• Enforcing strict health and safety regulations
• Staying up to date with relevant scientific developments that can improve the efficiency of lab operations
• Maintaining daily logs and equipment record books
• Ordering laboratory supplies, as needed
• Maintain equipment in proper working order and maintain a clean work area

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology

Experience

• 1 year the same role
• Evidence of building at least 2 medium-to-large Web or Mobile apps

• English

• Database administration and devepment (e.g., MySQL or PostgreSQL)
• Full-Stack development using contemporary frameworks (e.g., Next.js).
• Front-End development (e.g., React.js)
• Back-End Development (e.g. Next.js, Node.js, Python, etc.)
• Mobile Development (React Native, Swift, Java, etc.)
• Machine Learning programming (Python)
• Security and Authentication in software development development.
• Web standards (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Programming Languages: SQL, Python, JavaScript, and Java
• Networking programming (e.g., using Python).
• IoT programming (Arduino, Rasperry Pi)
• UI and UX design skills
• PowerShell scripting.
• Linux ecosystem.
• Data Science programming (Python).
