Teaching Assistant Full Time

Job Description:

The British International School Abu Dhabi (BIS Abu Dhabi) is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its vibrant school community. This role plays a critical part in supporting teachers in overcoming barriers to learning for students across different year groups. The Teaching Assistant will primarily work within classrooms, assisting individual students, small groups, or even the entire class. They may also be tasked with helping children with learning difficulties, behavioral challenges, or those for whom English is an additional language (EAL).

Key Responsibilities:

• Support classroom teachers in delivering lessons and managing student learning.
• Assist individual students or small groups, providing focused help to improve understanding and overcome learning challenges.
• Aid in the classroom management and preparation of resources to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide support to children with special educational needs or those with English as an additional language (EAL).
• Help maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to meet the individual needs of students.

Qualifications:

• A passion for education and helping students succeed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, teachers, and parents.
• Ability to adapt to the needs of a dynamic school environment.
• Prior experience in a similar role or a relevant qualification in education is desirable.
