Technical Instructor Full Time

Job Summary. 

As Technical Instructor within NOV’s Rig Aftermarket (RA) you will be working closely with all relevant departments to support and train internal and external customers in NOV technological fields. Responsible for preparing, conducting, and evaluating technical training programs and courses in classrooms and onsite. Developing training materials to support the needs of the market. Conducts classes regarding Operations, installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of software, machinery, and equipment as well as the safety aspects of them and help others develop skills that will make them better professionals. Technical Instructor must be extremely knowledgeable in the NOV products. Technical instructors need to have an excellent communicator to be able to explain complex subjects in a clear and interesting way. The goal is to contribute to the development of people’s technical skills to meet organizational and customer needs.

Responsibilities:

• Devise technical training programs according to organizational requirements that will fulfil the customer needs.
• Produce training schedules and classroom training.
• Products training onsite onshore/offshore.
• Determine course content according to objectives
• Prepare training material (presentations, worksheets etc.)
• Execute training sessions, webinars, workshops etc. in groups or individually
• Arrange for and conduct on-site training when needed
• Keep and report data on completed courses, absences, issues etc.
• Observe and evaluate results of training programs
• Determine overall effectiveness of programs and make improvements

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED: 

• Solid knowledge of NOV drilling and pipe handling equipment.
• Knowledge of NOV Rig Systems (Controls, Electrical, Tools)
• Minimum of 5 years of proven Experience with NOV control systems (Cyberbase, Amphion)
• Solid experience in Siemens PLC (Simatic Manager /TIA portal) and ABB(ACS800/ACS880) Drives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field (Electronics, Communication, etc.)
• Knowledge of modern training techniques and tools in technical subjects
• Experience in designing technical course content
• Ability to address training needs with complete courses
• Working knowledge in MS Office (especially MS PowerPoint)
• Outstanding communication skills and comfortable speaking to crowds
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Bilingual is preferred i.e. English + (Arabic, Hindi, Urdu)
