Accounts Assistant Full Time

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in processing supplier invoices, payments, receipts, and financial transactions accurately and on time.
• Maintain and update accounting records, financial files, vouchers, and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on outstanding balances and discrepancies.
• Prepare journal entries and provide support during month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Monitor Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with regular bank reconciliations and identify discrepancies for timely resolution.
• Support cash handling procedures and ensure transactions are properly recorded and documented.
• Verify employee expense claims against receipts and supporting documents before processing.
• Review invoices and financial documents for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization.
• Maintain systematic physical and digital filing systems for easy retrieval of financial records.
• Assist with preparation of financial schedules, reports, and supporting documents as requested.
• Support internal and external audit requirements by providing accurate records and documentation.
• Coordinate with purchasing, stores, front office, and other hotel departments regarding accounting-related matters.
• Ensure all accounting activities comply with hotel financial policies, procedures, UAE requirements, and Hilton standards.
• Protect confidential financial and employee information at all times.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties assigned by the Finance Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Minimum 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably within the hospitality or hotel industry.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or financial management systems.
• Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and general accounting procedures.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy in financial data and documentation.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a finance team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• Preference will be given to candidates currently based in the UAE.
