Safety Assistant Full Time

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the HSE team in implementing health and safety policies and procedures at project sites.
• Conduct routine site inspections to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards.
• Report safety observations and assist in ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Support supervisors and workers in following established HSE and site safety procedures.
• Assist in monitoring the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Check work areas for compliance with required safety standards and site regulations.
• Assist with toolbox talks, safety briefings, and worker safety awareness programs.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of safety inspection checklists and reports.
• Assist in documenting incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and safety observations.
• Follow up with relevant teams regarding identified safety issues and corrective actions.
• Assist in monitoring housekeeping, access routes, emergency exits, and general site conditions.
• Support safe work practices for activities involving construction, MEP, machinery, tools, and equipment.
• Assist in monitoring compliance with permit-to-work and other site safety requirements.
• Help ensure workers understand basic emergency procedures and site safety rules.
• Participate in emergency drills, evacuation exercises, and other safety activities.
• Assist in maintaining HSE records, registers, checklists, and documentation.
• Coordinate with site supervisors and workers to communicate safety instructions clearly.
• Escalate serious hazards, unsafe practices, or potential incidents to the HSE Supervisor or Safety Officer.
• Assist during internal safety audits, inspections, and project compliance activities.
• Promote a positive safety culture across the workplace.
• Perform other HSE-related duties assigned by the Safety Officer or management.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in HSE, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in Construction, MEP, or Industrial projects.
• Good knowledge of HSE principles and site safety practices.
• Understanding of workplace hazards, PPE, housekeeping, and basic risk-control measures.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to prepare basic safety reports and maintain HSE documentation.
• Ability to work effectively with workers, supervisors, engineers, and project teams.
• NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA certification is an advantage.
• Strong observation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a site-based and fast-paced environment.
• Responsible, disciplined, proactive, and safety-focused attitude.
• Willingness to learn and follow company HSE policies and project requirements.
