KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system accurately for all customer transactions.
• Process cash, credit/debit card, and other approved payment methods efficiently.
• Verify prices, discounts, promotions, and quantities before completing transactions.
• Issue accurate receipts and maintain proper transaction records.
• Manage the cash drawer and ensure cash balances remain accurate throughout the shift.
• Count cash at the beginning and end of shifts according to company procedures.
• Handle refunds, exchanges, cancellations, and adjustments in line with company policies.
• Report cash discrepancies, transaction errors, or payment issues promptly to the supervisor.
• Assist customers with product, pricing, billing, and payment-related queries.
• Provide polite, professional, and helpful customer service at all times.
• Resolve routine customer concerns efficiently and refer complex issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Support stock checks and basic store operations when required.
• Assist in checking product availability, prices, labels, and shelf information.
• Coordinate with store staff regarding stock, customer requests, and checkout requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-presented checkout area.
• Ensure POS equipment, counters, scanners, and payment terminals are properly maintained.
• Follow all required safety, security, and ISO standards during daily operations.
• Protect customer information and maintain confidentiality of transaction details.
• Follow company policies relating to cash handling, fraud prevention, security, and customer service.
• Assist with other cashier, store, and administrative duties assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2–3 years of cashier or customer-facing experience.
• Previous experience in a retail environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of POS systems and checkout procedures.
• Good understanding of cash handling, card payments, refunds, and exchanges.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
