Key Responsibilities

• Receive and Inspect Materials: Receive construction materials, tools, equipment, and supplies, checking quantities and quality against purchase orders, delivery notes, and approved specifications.
• Manage Inventory: Maintain accurate stock levels and ensure all materials are properly stored, labeled, and arranged for easy identification and access.
• Maintain Documentation: Prepare and update Goods Received Notes (GRNs), material issue records, stock registers, inventory reports, and other store-related documents.
• Issue Materials: Distribute materials to authorized personnel according to approved requests and maintain records of all outgoing items.
• Coordinate Deliveries: Work closely with site engineers, supervisors, procurement staff, and suppliers to arrange timely material deliveries and avoid delays in construction activities.
• Monitor Stock Levels: Track material consumption, identify low-stock items, and inform the concerned team when replenishment is required.
• Conduct Stock Audits: Perform regular physical stock counts, compare results with system records, and investigate discrepancies.
• Prevent Material Loss: Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of construction materials to minimize damage, wastage, and unauthorized use.
• Maintain Store Safety: Keep the store and storage areas clean, organized, and compliant with applicable workplace health and safety procedures.
• Prepare Reports: Generate inventory summaries, material movement reports, and stock reconciliation statements for management review.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Storekeeper in building construction stores is essential.
• Good knowledge of construction materials, inventory management, and material control procedures.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel for maintaining stock records and preparing reports.
• Ability to prepare GRNs, material requisitions, delivery records, and inventory documentation accurately.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Good communication and coordination skills when working with site teams, suppliers, and procurement departments.
• Ability to identify stock discrepancies and maintain reliable inventory records.
• Familiarity with construction site operations and safe material handling practices is an advantage.
