Al Mashhad is seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our existing Finance team in the headquarters located in Dubai, UAE. The accountant is responsible for specialized accounting functions of General Ledger Management, Accounts Receivable, Cost Accounting and Fixed Asset Management.

Some of the key accountabilities of the incumbent can be as follow:

• Prepares journal entries and timely reconciliation of all G/L accounts, ledgers, fixed asset records, expenses, domestic and overseas bank accounts.

• Identifies errors and risks that could have a financial impact on the company’s financial statements in accordance with company policies, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Prepares special reports and financial studies for management and alerts them to significant variances to plan.
• Assists in preparation for the annual audit conducted by the external auditors.
• Coordinates the Fixed Asset process and makes necessary journal entries.
• Communicates with multiple levels in the organization and escalate issues to appropriate management.
• Journals daily cash receipts, posting them to appropriate cash accounts.
• Audits domestic and international payrolls.
• Records adjustments and re-classes in the system.
• Oversees the recording of returned wires and fees.
• Maintains account receivable and liabilities accounts.
• Records overseas cash activity, bank transfer and fees.
• Processes and records payroll vouchers and travel reimbursements.
• Manages corporate credit card activity.

Requirements

• BA/BS in accounting, finance, business, or related field. • Advanced knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, cost accounting and general ledger entry process/reconciliation in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). • Knowledge of UAE financial regulations to include payroll tax laws and VAT. • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills. • Knowledge and hands-on use of ERP system (Oracle) is a must. • Knowledge of funds management and budgeting techniques. • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
