We are looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support financial operations across a group of companies. The role involves supervising daily accounting activities, managing a small team of junior accountants, and assisting the Senior Accountant with financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR, journal entries, invoices, and payments.
- Supervise and mentor 4 junior accountants, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of tasks.
- Assist in consolidated financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare financial data for audits and VAT/tax documentation.
- Manage accounting entries in ERP systems (Odoo), QuickBooks, and Excel while ensuring data integrity.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, including 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Experience with group company accounts, Odoo, QuickBooks, and Excel preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliation, and financial controls.
- Knowledge of UAE accounting and tax regulations is an advantage.
