Assistant Accountant Full Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and verify supplier invoices by checking supporting documents such as Purchase Orders (PO), Goods Received Notes (GRN), and contracts.
• Perform accurate 2-way and 3-way invoice matching to ensure consistency between invoices, POs, and delivery records.
• Ensure correct General Ledger (GL) coding for all financial transactions and expenses.
• Prepare and manage payment batches, including cheques and bank transfers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Coordinate with internal departments such as procurement and operations to resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Monitor and ensure timely payments to suppliers, maintaining strong vendor relationships.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records and documentation.
• Assist in bank reconciliations and support the finance team in identifying discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring all AP entries are properly recorded.
• Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all transactions.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and summaries related to accounts payable.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and financial procedures.
• Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams to ensure smooth accounts payable operations.
• Support audit processes by providing necessary AP documentation and reports.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in AP functions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• 1–3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with accounting or ERP systems is an advantage.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication skills for coordination with vendors and internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
• Fluency in English (mandatory).
