Key Responsibilities

Customer Billing

• Handle daily customer billing and payment transactions accurately.
• Scan or enter products and services correctly into the billing system.
• Verify prices, quantities, discounts, and applicable charges before completing transactions.
• Issue receipts and other approved payment documentation to customers.
• Ensure all billing transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.
• Respond professionally to routine billing-related questions.
• Maintain a friendly and helpful approach throughout the customer interaction.

Cash & Payment Handling

• Accept cash, card, and other approved payment methods.
• Count cash accurately before and after transactions.
• Verify card payments and ensure successful transaction completion.
• Provide correct change to customers when applicable.
• Follow company procedures for handling cash and payment transactions.
• Maintain the security and confidentiality of cash and financial information.
• Report payment issues or unusual transactions to the Shop In-Charge.

End-of-Day Reporting

• Prepare the End-of-Day (EOD) report accurately.
• Reconcile daily cash collections with billing system records.
• Reconcile card transactions and verify payment totals.
• Identify and investigate cash or payment discrepancies.
• Inform the Shop In-Charge immediately about any discrepancies.
• Maintain proper supporting documentation for daily reconciliation.
• Ensure all EOD reports are completed and submitted within the required timeframe.

Customer Service

• Assist customers with payment-related inquiries professionally.
• Explain billing or payment information clearly when required.
• Handle customer concerns politely and escalate complex issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain a positive and customer-focused attitude.
• Ensure customers receive efficient and courteous service.
• Support a welcoming and professional store environment.
• Protect customer information and maintain confidentiality.

Store & Team Support

• Support additional store activities and team functions as required.
• Assist colleagues during busy operational periods.
• Support basic store administration and transaction-related activities.
• Coordinate with the Shop In-Charge regarding daily cashier operations.
• Follow store policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Assist with maintaining an organized checkout area.
• Perform other duties assigned according to operational and business requirements.

Cash & Reconciliation Duties

• Maintain accurate records of cash and card transactions.
• Perform daily cash counting and reconciliation.
• Compare physical cash with system-generated transaction records.
• Verify card settlement information against POS records.
• Identify discrepancies and report them promptly.
• Maintain accurate transaction documentation.
• Follow internal controls related to cash handling and payment processing.
• Ensure cash handling procedures are consistently followed.

Requirements & Skills

• 2–3 years of cashier experience, preferably in the retail sector.
• Previous experience handling customer billing and payment transactions.
• Good knowledge of cash, card, and POS transaction procedures.
• Comfortable performing daily cash and card reconciliation.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Proactive and responsible approach to work.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer-service orientation.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Ability to handle multiple customer transactions efficiently.
• Trustworthy and reliable when handling cash and financial transactions.
• Good computer and POS system skills are an advantage.
