Accountant Duties & Responsibilities In The UAE

• Financial Records & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate books of accounts in compliance with UAE accounting standards (IFRS).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger reconciliations.
• VAT & Compliance
  • Prepare and file VAT returns in accordance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate tax, excise, and other UAE laws.
  • Maintain proper documentation for audits and tax inspections.
• Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor expenses vs. budgets and provide variance analysis.
  • Support management with financial planning and cost control.
• Payroll & Employee Benefits
  • Process monthly payroll in compliance with UAE labour laws and WPS requirements.
  • Calculate end-of-service benefits (gratuity) as per UAE Labour Law.
  • Handle staff reimbursements and allowances.
• Banking & Cash Flow Management
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow statements.
  • Manage bank reconciliations and liaise with banks for facilities or transactions.
  • Oversee petty cash management and fund allocations.
• General Administrative Support
  • Coordinate with suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders for financial matters.
  • Prepare management reports and assist in strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure timely invoicing, collections, and follow-up on outstanding payments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or related field with 1-2 years of relevant UAE experience
• Professional Accounting/Finance Qualification is an asset (CFA, CPA, CMA, ACCA)
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Fluency in the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Fluency in Google Suite and Tally System is a must.
• Speaking Arabic would be an asset.
• Preferably Filipino Candidates
