Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), a tertiary referral (742 bed hospital)l joint venture between Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), the largest health care network in the United Arab Emirates) is seeking a talented passionate many different medical, clinical & Admin positions.
Job Purpose
Responsible for managing the day-to-day internal affairs and litigation at SSMC and representing and advising SSMC in relation to legal matters under the direction and supervision of the Associate General Counsel
Responsibilities
Represent and advise SSMC in relation to litigation, criminal allegations and disputes
Draft and review memoranda regarding incidents or litigation-related matters
Represent SSMC at all court hearings and meetings
Follow up on litigation and disputes involving the organization, taking actions, draft necessary memoranda and ensure implementation of decisions and rulings
Conduct necessary investigations, as provided by the relevant by laws Provide legal advice
Advise SSMC on employment and labour law issues
Advise SSMC on relevant regulation (medical and non-medical) from government or other bodies
Advise on issues related to the implementation and application of ethical and legal principles for practicing medical professionals and conduct appropriate investigations
Provide legal opinion and consultancy as and when requested
Accountabilities
The Legal Counsel (Litigation, Internal Affairs & Employment Practice Group) is directly accountable to the Associate General Counsel and the General Counsel

Participate in committees and draft policies
Participate in cross-functional teams and committees as and when requested by the Legal Manager Internal Affairs & Litigation
Draft policies and participate in the establishment of legal procedures at SSMC under the guidance of the Legal Manager Internal Affairs & Litigation
Educational Qualification:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Law from an accredited Law School
Desired:
Master Degree in Law from an accredited Law School Specialist
Certifications:
Desired:
Bar Exam or equivalent in the United Arab Emirates (or any other relevant jurisdiction)
Experience:
Required:
3 to 5 years work experience as a lawyer in a law firm or in-house
Desired:
UAE and/or healthcare experience
