Key Responsibilities:

• Verify purchase requisitions by comparing requested items with the master list, clarifying specifications, and recommending suitable alternatives where required.
• Review inventory levels and forward available stock items by verifying quantities and scheduling timely delivery to relevant departments.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) by confirming specifications, pricing, and supplier quotations.
• Coordinate with suppliers to obtain recommendations for substitute items when necessary and ensure approval from the requisitioning department.
• Process procurement by forwarding purchase orders to suppliers, monitoring order status, and expediting deliveries to meet deadlines.
• Ensure accurate receipt of purchased items by comparing delivered goods with purchase orders and resolving discrepancies with suppliers.
• Handle issues related to incorrect or damaged shipments, ensuring proper communication and resolution with vendors.
• Facilitate payment authorization by forwarding verified receiving documents and coordinating with the finance department.
• Maintain organized procurement documentation, ensuring all records are properly sorted, filed, and easily accessible.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize data to provide purchasing planning and control reports.
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure quality and reliability.
• Support cost-saving initiatives by identifying opportunities for efficient procurement and negotiation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with internal departments to understand procurement needs and ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in improving procurement processes for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in an Engineering-related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in procurement or a related field.
• Experience in steel and iron industries is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Oracle systems for procurement and inventory management.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, inventory control, and supplier management.
• Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing and terms.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and reporting.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and coordination abilities.
