Senior Accountant – Receivables Full Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate accurate rebate credit notes and prepare detailed customer account statements on a regular basis.
• Perform thorough account reconciliations to ensure all receivable balances are accurate and up to date.
• Prepare and monitor aging reports, identifying overdue accounts and highlighting potential risks to management.
• Review and manage customer credit limits and credit terms, ensuring adherence to company policies and minimizing credit risk.
• Continuously monitor customer account movements, identifying unusual patterns or delays in payments.
• Collaborate closely with the collections department to review outstanding accounts, analyze client payment behavior, and improve collection strategies.
• Evaluate customer credit history and recommend revised repayment terms where necessary to ensure timely collections.
• Perform bank reconciliations, including cash, cheque, and bank transfers, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
• Pass required journal entries for adjustments, corrections, and reconciliations in the accounting system.
• Review KYC (Know Your Customer) documentation and ensure proper verification before onboarding new customers.
• Create and maintain accurate customer codes in the ERP system, ensuring all master data is correctly recorded.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, irregularities, or inquiries raised by the sales team or clients.
• Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all receivable transactions and adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and financial regulations.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, particularly related to receivables and revenue recognition.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the FMCG trading industry.
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes, credit control, and reconciliation procedures.
• Proficiency in bookkeeping software and accounting systems.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems; familiarity with JDE (JD Edwards) is an added advantage.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good typing skills and attention to detail for accurate data entry and reporting.
• Ability to handle high-volume transactions efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to work with internal teams and clients.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights for improving collections.
• Immediate joiner preferred, with flexibility to adapt to business requirements.
