Accountant jobs in Dubai remain highly competitive within the retail and luxury distribution sector. Chalhoub Group is seeking qualified professionals with expertise in ERP accounting software, SAP FICO modules, Oracle Financials Cloud, IFRS financial reporting, VAT compliance, corporate tax regulations, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A). Candidates experienced in cost accounting, internal audit coordination, budgeting systems, risk management controls, and enterprise financial automation tools will play a crucial role in ensuring financial accuracy and regulatory compliance across operations.
What you’ll be doing
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for financial reporting, month-end close, and analytical review, with a clear shift from transactional bookkeeping to value-added financial analysis.
The role requires strong cross-functional interaction and ownership of account quality.
This role is ideal for an Accountant who enjoys owning numbers end-to-end, engaging with stakeholders, and moving closer to analysis and decision support, while still maintaining strong reporting discipline.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
Own month-end closing activities for assigned entities.
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
Perform P&L variance analysis, investigate movements, and provide clear explanations.
Ensure compliance with IFRS standards, including IFRS 16.
Support audit processes and liaise with internal/external auditors as needed.
Prepare reporting decks and financial summaries using Excel and PowerPoint.
Work closely with Shared Services, Commercial, and Finance teams to resolve open items and drive closure.
Contribute to the transition from bookkeeping-focused work to analysis-driven finance support.
Act as a custodian of accounts, ensuring data integrity and accountability.
What you’ll need to succeed
A minimum of 1 to 2 years of accounting experience.
You are preferably ACCA certified, or possess another related certification.
You preferably have experience in a retail environment or high-volume environment.
You preferably have an audit background, with a preference for Big 4 experience.
You possess strong communication and collaboration skills.
You are proactive and possess an analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and explain financial data.
You preferably have experience in SAP system.
