KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Billing & POS Operations

• Process customer purchases accurately through the POS or billing system.
• Enter product details, quantities, prices, discounts, and applicable taxes correctly.
• Generate and issue receipts, invoices, and payment confirmations.
• Verify bills before completing transactions to minimize errors.
• Operate the POS terminal, barcode scanner, cash register, and other billing equipment.
• Report POS or billing-system issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain accurate transaction records throughout the working shift.

Cash & Payment Handling

• Receive and process cash, credit/debit cards, and approved digital payments.
• Count cash carefully and provide the correct change to customers.
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the shift.
• Conduct opening and closing cash counts according to company procedures.
• Reconcile cash and payment transactions with daily sales records.
• Report shortages, overages, suspicious transactions, or payment discrepancies promptly.
• Follow proper procedures for refunds, exchanges, cancellations, and adjustments.

Customer Service

• Greet customers in a polite, friendly, and professional manner.
• Provide efficient service while maintaining billing accuracy.
• Respond to customer questions regarding prices, bills, products, and payment methods.
• Handle customer concerns calmly and refer complex issues to the supervisor.
• Maintain a positive attitude during busy periods and high customer volumes.
• Protect customer payment and personal information with appropriate confidentiality.

Store & Counter Support

• Keep the checkout and counter area clean, organized, and presentable.
• Assist with basic product or stock checks when required.
• Coordinate with sales, store, and operations teams regarding billing or customer issues.
• Ensure required stationery, receipt rolls, and cashier supplies are available.
• Follow company standards relating to workplace safety, cash security, and customer service.
• Support other store or administrative duties assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience as a Cashier, Billing Executive, Counter Staff, or similar position is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cash handling and POS operations.
• Good numerical and data-entry skills.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn billing software.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Honest, punctual, responsible, and trustworthy.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet daily requirements.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, or holidays when required.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
