Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
• Monitor financial transactions and ensure accuracy in accounting records.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) activities.
• Perform and review bank reconciliations and General Ledger reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets and monitor budget performance.
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
• Monitor operational costs and implement effective cost-control measures.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor company liquidity.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of shipping-related financial transactions.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Coordinate with internal departments regarding financial reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
• Review financial controls and recommend process improvements.
• Supervise junior finance staff and provide guidance and training where required.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all financial information.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in the container shipping industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and cost control.
• Experience in managing accounting operations and financial processes.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience preparing financial statements and management reports.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
