Job Purpose The purpose of the Airport Firefighter Driver is to ensure effective firefighting and rescue operations in the
airport environment. This role involves applying specialized firefighting techniques and tactics to manage
emergencies, both with and without supervision.
The key responsibilities include maintaining the readiness of firefighting vehicles, equipment, and
infrastructure, ensuring they comply with the airport’s operational standards. Furthermore, they are expected
to activate and respond to incidents and accidents within their jurisdiction, leveraging their training and
expertise to effectively manage emergency situations.

Development
1. Participate in educational Fire and Safety awareness programmes.
2. Maintain level of physical fitness as per RAK policies and procedures.
3. Undergo physical and theoretical training according to the Structured Learning
Program.
4. Participate in drills, physical training and use of equipment
Process 1. Responsible for daily checking of fire appliances, media levels, fire – fighting
and rescue equipment, fully conversant with pump operation on major foam
tenders and radio procedures.
1. Respond to the scene with maximum urgency by keeping safety in mind.
2. Make suggestions for buying of new equipment, services and / or materials.
3. Attending emergency incidents, fires and pump & monitor operations.
4. Rescue trapped people .
5. Minimizing distress and suffering, including giving first aid before the
hospital staff arrives;
6. Dealing with unforeseen circumstances as they arise; thinking and
responding quickly;
7. Cleaning up and checking the site after dealing with an incident;

Qualifications Qualifications, Experience, & Skills
Educational
Qualifications 1. Diploma or equivalent, minimum of high school education (12th Grade) & Fluent in
the English language (both spoken and written)
Professional
Qualifications 1. Heavy UAE drivers license.
2. First Aid qualified and licensing is advantageous.

obesity and medically fit.
2. Should not be less than 1.65metres in height.
3. Have good eyesight.
4. Clean shaven
5. Fit for any manual work, including lifting, climbing and all firefighting related duties.
6. Cannot be Claustrophobic, Acrophobic nor Hemophobia.
Experience Required
Experience 1. 2 years experience as a firefighter at an airport category of 7 or higher
2. Understand incident command and crew commander roles and responsibilities

Department:
To comply with the relevant safety requirements and procedures outlined in the Aerodrome Operations
Manual and Safety Management System and any other instructions or notices issued by Ras Al Khaimah
International Airport.
To comply with the safety requirements detailed within their training.
To advise their Head of Department and the Airport Duty Officer team of any safety occurrence or
system failure and to identify and report any situation of potential risk or concern affecting safety via
one of the following means.
Report directly to the Safety Department or an immediate supervisor.
Submitting an Accident/ Incident Report.
Support safety audits as and investigations as they occur.
