Logistics Officer Full Time

Position Overview

Work under the direction of the Head of Logisitics and Logistics Supervisor to provide quality proofed material receiving, storing and distribution services.




To develop, implement, maintain and improve the delivery of logistics functions in support of Etihad Rail Opco’s operations.

Roles and Responsibility

• Liaise with local and international Suppliers as well as Freight Forwarding Companies
• Manage shipping and receiving process.
• Ensure all aspects of logistics team such as shipping, warehousing and procurement work together to fill orders and deliver materials and equipment in a timely manner.
• Ensure equipment and commodities are in the right place and at the right time by road, sea or air.
• Freight consolidation, cost analysis, routing and scheduling.
• Prepare shipping documents and provide support.
• Tracking, receiving, stocking and issue of items ordered. Stock reconciliation SAP V Physical.
• Manage, maintain inventory levels and accounting for inventory.
• Ensure that materials are appropriately stored. Space utilization.
• Work hand in hand with subcontractors to ensure that communications and safety protocols are followed.
• Communicate with various stakeholders including customers, clients, colleagues, vendors, 3PL Logistics partners.
• Handle Hazmat Materials. Handle Petrol, Oil and Lubricants (POL).
• Prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• Customer focus attitude and client orientation.

Academic Qualifications

Desirable qualifications, skills and experience

• A good level of basic education

Professional Qualifications

• Knowledge of SAP

Experience

• Experience of working in a warehouse and storage facility
• Experience of working with maintenance/engineer personnel providing specialist Storemanship advice to deliver best practice
• Experience of handling, controlling and accounting for items of inventory
• Experience of communicating with and coordinating customer requirements.
