Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

• Record daily financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
• Prepare and post journal entries, invoices, payment vouchers, and receipts.
• Maintain the General Ledger (GL) and supporting accounting schedules.
• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
• Process supplier payments and monitor customer collections.
• Verify financial documents before recording transactions.
• Maintain petty cash records and monitor company expenses.

Financial Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile customer and supplier accounts.
• Assist in preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Generate financial reports and management summaries.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

Compliance & Audit

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and statutory regulations.
• Prepare supporting documentation for VAT and tax filings where applicable.
• Assist internal and external auditors by providing accurate financial records.
• Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documents.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of financial information.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures and internal controls.

Administrative Support

• Coordinate with internal departments regarding financial transactions.
• Prepare financial schedules and supporting reports for management.
• Maintain accurate filing systems for accounting documents.
• Support finance managers with various accounting and administrative tasks.
• Perform additional accounting duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Previous accounting experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software or ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
