Key Responsibilities

Daily Accounting Operations

• Assist in recording daily financial transactions accurately.
• Prepare journal entries, payment vouchers, receipts, and invoices.
• Maintain the General Ledger (GL) and ensure accounting records are updated.
• Support Accounts Payable (AP) by processing supplier invoices and payments.
• Assist with Accounts Receivable (AR) by monitoring customer payments and outstanding balances.
• Verify financial documents before processing transactions.
• Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation.

Financial Reporting

• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare expense reports and payment schedules.
• Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting activities.
• Generate financial reports using Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and financial procedures.
• Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
• Support VAT-related documentation and statutory compliance where applicable.
• Assist internal and external auditors by providing financial records.
• Maintain confidentiality of company financial information.
• Help improve accounting processes and record-keeping practices.

Administrative Support

• Coordinate with procurement, HR, operations, and finance departments.
• Prepare spreadsheets, reports, and financial summaries.
• Organize and maintain digital and physical accounting files.
• Support senior accountants with daily accounting activities.
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Previous accounting or internship experience is an advantage.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
• Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliation, and General Ledger.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications.
• Familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
