Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance

• Prepare and file tax returns accurately within statutory deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and financial regulations.
• Maintain proper tax records and supporting documentation.
• Monitor tax filing schedules and ensure timely submissions.
• Review financial transactions for tax accuracy.
• Keep updated with changes in tax legislation and regulatory requirements.

VAT & Indirect Tax Management

• Prepare VAT calculations and supporting schedules.
• Maintain VAT records and reconciliation statements.
• Verify tax invoices and ensure compliance with VAT regulations.
• Assist in VAT return preparation and filing.
• Resolve VAT-related discrepancies and queries.
• Support management during VAT audits and inspections.

Financial Reporting & Accounting

• Assist in preparing financial statements related to taxation.
• Reconcile tax accounts and ledger balances.
• Prepare tax provisions and deferred tax schedules where applicable.
• Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
• Analyze financial data to identify tax implications.
• Assist in preparing management reports related to taxation.

Audit & Documentation

• Prepare documentation for internal and external tax audits.
• Coordinate with auditors and tax consultants during reviews.
• Maintain organized tax files and statutory records.
• Ensure proper documentation of all tax-related transactions.
• Respond to tax notices and compliance inquiries.
• Support implementation of internal tax control procedures.

Business Support

• Provide tax-related guidance to finance and business teams.
• Assist management in tax planning and compliance strategies.
• Coordinate with banks, government authorities, and external consultants.
• Support ERP system updates related to taxation.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance tax efficiency.
• Perform additional finance and taxation duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Taxation, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or Tax Certification are an advantage.
• Experience in taxation, accounting, or finance is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of VAT, Corporate Tax, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Office, and accounting software.
• Experience with ERP systems is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• High attention to detail with strong numerical accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines.
