Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily bookkeeping and financial transaction processing.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records across multiple entities.
• Complete bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies promptly.
• Reconcile control accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions.
• Review and verify financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare reconciliation reports and supporting schedules for management review.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accurate account balances.
• Support financial reporting and management accounting functions.
• Assist with payroll-related reconciliations and financial controls.
• Support UK payroll and umbrella payroll processes, including PAYE, National Insurance (NI), and RTI requirements.
• Monitor cash movements and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and data inconsistencies.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and financial procedures.
• Assist with internal and external audit requirements.
• Maintain organized accounting documentation and financial records.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting and reconciliation issues.
• Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping, finance operations, or accounting.
• Strong hands-on experience with Xero Accounting Software (essential).
• Proven experience performing complex reconciliations and managing control accounts.
• Experience working across multiple business entities and group structures.
• Exposure to UK payroll and umbrella payroll processes.
• Knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance (NI), and Real Time Information (RTI) requirements.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting procedures.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
• Experience with financial reporting and ledger management.
